Reading:

Isaiah 1-3, Proverbs 13, 1 Thessalonians 2

Prayer:

  • Spurgeon has this incredible illustration for 1 Thessalonians 2:18, “It appears to me that we shake the tree, and no fruit drops from it.  And just when one more shake would bring down the luscious fruit, the devil touches us on the shoulder and tells us it is time to be gone. And so we miss the blessing we might have attained.  I mean that just when prayer would be the most successful, we are tempted to abstain from it.”  What fruitless tree are you tempted to give up on?  Pray for that today!
  • TransAct Hope is a ministry supported by Woodlands Local Outreach efforts.  The purpose of TransAct Hope is “to offer hope to our neighbors who are committed to improving their lives by connecting them to Christ, affordable housing, and a community of caring people”. Pray for mercy and grace for many of our TransAct Hope families as they work to overcome obstacles in their lives..
  • Please pray for Marty and Pat as they enter into a new season of life and ministry.  Pray for refreshment in this season and for a deep passion to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.*
