Reading:
Jeremiah 7-9, Proverbs 18, Hebrews 1
Prayer:
- Today we begin reading through the book of Hebrews and it begins with a bang. In the first chapter of Hebrews, we look intently into the person and work of Jesus Christ. The author reminds us that in the past, God spoke through the prophets, “but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son”. This chapter speaks authoritatively to the supremacy of God’s Son. Take your time prayerfully reading through these first fourteen verses again, asking God to reveal who His Son is to you, the work He’s done, and the supreme authority He has over all things, and particularly sin and death.
- Pray for our life groups and classes that are happening this quarter. Pray that these groups where Christ followers gather together would be grounded in God’s Word and steeped in prayer. Pray that these groups would be helping everyone become more like Christ, in all of life, and for all of life. And pray that these groups would be a place to be proclaiming the gospel of grace, and living graciously.
- Pray for all of our supported missionaries that are working to advance the gospel. Pray that their efforts would be established by God’s hand and seeds would be planted that yield eternal fruit.*
