Reading:

2 Chronicles 3-5, Psalm 77, 1 Corinthians 11

Prayer:

  • We’re in 1 Corinthians 11 which holds the passage Pastor Dave used to introduce this past week’s sermon and a tension that we all might battle at some point in our journey with Christ – the battle to completely trust Christ’s sacrifice so that we can be made right with God or to try to earn our own righteousness.  Remember, we take communion to declare we are utterly dependent on God for salvation and are united in Christ by grace through faith. Remind yourself again of the gospel and trust in Christ’s complete and sufficient sacrifice for you – no one can boast except in Christ’s blood!  Praise God for that and rest in it today.
  • We are meeting tonight as a junior and senior high youth group.  Ask that God would meet us in our gathering and continue to give us all that we need to follow Him.
  • Pray for the fruit of our missionaries – pray that God would establish and grow seeds planted by faithful saints into real, lasting spiritual fruit.  Pray that our missionaries would take heart where fruit is not yet apparent, that they would give thanks for abundant fruit, and that God would be building his kingdom through their labor. *
