Reading:

2 Chronicles 6-8, Proverbs 31, 1 Corinthians 12

Prayer:

  • In 1 Corinthians 12, we learn about the gifts given to Christ’s body.  While Paul names individual gifts, he gives a reason for them and a place for each within the body of believers – they are given “for the common good” and each individual has a place within the body of Christ because we are “the body of Christ, and individual members of it.”    What gifts have you been given?  How are you building up the body of Christ with them?  For the common good?  Sit with God for a while and give him thanks for the ways he’s used you to build his body – how amazing is it that he uses us?!  It’s an incredible truth worth pondering and praying through.  Lean into any inklings to start serving his body in new ways.  Ask for an obedient heart to follow his leading.
  • Pray that our church body would be seeking God this summer! Pray our body of believers would come to see that He is worth our time, attention, gaze, and heart. Pray our body would be diving into his Word and would be rubbing shoulders with other believers to discuss what we’re learning / what He’s teaching us.
  • Pray that Jesus would be the first love of each of our missionaries.  Pray that they would be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, that they’d be growing in their knowledge of and dependence on him.  Pray against the schemes of the evil one to lead astray any of these saints.*
