Reading:
1 Chronicles 26-29, Psalm 76, 1 Corinthians 9
Prayer:
- Chapter 9 of 1 Corinthians gives us a picture into the life of Paul the Apostle – what he did and why he did it. Pay attention to the many times that ‘so that’ (or similar verbiage) is used in these verses. Pray for God to raise strong gospel convictions in our own hearts so that we might join Paul in his gospel actions and in saying, “I do all this because of the gospel, so that I may share in the blessings” (v.23).
- Pray for the Lord to be readying the hearts, minds, and calendars of our church body to engage deeply into Christ-centered community in this coming ministry year. The past year and a half, gathering in community has had so many complications and difficulties. Pray that the Lord would use the absence of community in the past 18 months to develop a hunger for Christ-centered, transformational community. Pray we would have opportunities to opt into and many would take the step into transformational community!
- Pray for the many missionaries that have been listed in the last weeks – pray for those who are on the field with children. Pray that the family unit would be strengthened through their service and pray that the faith of the young ones would be bolstered because of their experience. Pray for the Lord to protect these young hearts and minds. *
