Reading:
1 Chronicles 23-25, Psalm 75, 1 Corinthians 8
Prayer:
- In chapter 7, Paul revealed that this letter to Corinth contains responses to some questions the church has posed to him. He’s addressed some issues in both 7 and 8, and ends this chapter with an interesting formula, “Therefore, if ________ causes my brother or sister to fall, I will _________, so that I won’t cause my brother or sister to fall.” (v. 13). What a challenging sentence! Today, pray for the humility to recognize some of the freedoms we enjoy and how they might affect our brothers and sisters. Ask for revelation from God as to how we might respond in love and concern for one another, and pray for the strength and resolve to humbly lay our lives down for one another. This is not a natural posture. We need the power of the risen Lord Jesus Christ to quicken us and empower these kinds of actions – for the sake of the gospel!
- Today Camp 412 begins – pray that those students who have experienced Kids Crossing 412 this spring would have a culminating experience at Camp 412 this weekend, Pray that gospel truths would sink deep into hearts and the seeds of this weekend would produce fruit in their lives for years to come.
- Pray 2 Thessalonians 3:1 for all of our missionaries today: “brothers and sisters, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored”.*
