Reading:

1 Chronicles 14-16, Proverbs 29, 1 Corinthians 6

Prayer:

  • 1 Corinthians 6, Paul is exhorting the church in Corinth to change the way they are living in some very real ways.  (His use of rhetoric is sometimes hard to pick up, so if you’re struggling, read a few different translations to get the cadence here.)  Paul is determined to bring this church to a more full understanding of God’s righteous ways – to live in a way that is telling of the change that has come about because of following Christ, “And some of you used to be like this.  But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (v. 11).  Pray as believers, as professing Christians, we would live as washed, sanctified, and justified men and women!  Pray we would have the humility to understand deeply that we needed to be washed, we need to be sanctified, we needed justification.  And God, in his grace, has provided us with all that we need for life and godliness.  Praise him!  And pray to live a life worthy of the call we have received.
  • During this week we are going to be hosting a weekend day camp for our 4th-6th graders, titled Camp 412, to further talk about what they learned over the last 12 weeks of the school year: how to live out Woodland’s Purpose and Priorities through the lens of 1 Timothy 4:12. Please be praying for the weekend to go well and for God to be working through the activities of going, gathering, grounding, growing, giving, and being grace-filled with one another.
  • Pray for the team of church planters and leaders in India seeking to share the love and good news of Jesus with their country men and women.*
