Reading:
Ezra 1-2, Psalm 85, 2 Corinthians 6
Prayer:
- There’s a sweet interplay between our readings today. In the Old Testament, we’ve begun reading Ezra, the story of Israel returning out of exile to the land promised by God to rebuild the temple. The articles taken from the temple by Nebuchadnezzar are returned, restoration is beginning. In the first 3 verses of Psalm 85, we read all that God has done for his people, and then in verses 4-7, the call for God to return, for him to show his faithful love and bring salvation. Isn’t that sweet? The psalms gave the people in exile a template to pray and commune with God and we get to read about God’s response in Ezra. If you are struggling with whether or not God keeps his promises, spend some time here today confessing your unbelief, remembering who he is, what he’s done, and believe that he is the promise keeping God!
- Please pray for Woodlands Staff and elders. Pray for rejuvenation and restoration this summer. Pray for passion for the gospel to grow. Pray for our hearts to be continually renewed by the Word – that we would form our lives and ministries around the Word and strongly guard against forming the Word around our lives. Pray for a unity of spirit and vision to make much of the cross in all we do!
- Please pray for Rich and Rachel as they seek to make disciples of Jesus!*
