Reading:

Genesis 46-48, Proverbs 7, Matthew 26

Prayer:

  • Matthew 26 is a passage that, if we slow down and read thoroughly, we find to be filled with Jesus’ suffering. He experiences Jewish leadership plotting to kill him, the betrayal of a close friend, crippling anxiety and worry, his own people falsely accusing him, and another close friend denying their relationship. Jesus knows what it is to suffer. If you’re suffering, pray that the Spirit would teach you to lean into Jesus as one who knows what you’re going through. Also pray for those suffering, that the Spirit would comfort them as a God acquainted with suffering.
  • Today we are reading Matthew chapter 26 which so painfully illustrates the beginning of the suffering Jesus endured on His way to the cross. But it also illustrates just how far God was willing to go to rescue us. We ask, today, that you pray for our children and families that as they read these words they would have an understanding of God’s rescue mission–that it was for them, for their sin, to win back their heart–and that they would have a deep desire to follow Him.
  • Pray for Neil and Sue as they seek to make Christ known through their work. *
