Reading:
Job 12-14, Psalm 94, NT Catch up
Prayer:
- We’re in the midst of the dialogue between friends in the book of Job. Today, we got to read Job’s wearied response to his friends and we watch him turn his thoughts and questions to God. As Job rides the roller coaster of emotion from living through the horrible circumstances surrounding him, he models for us what it looks like to relate to God in the midst of suffering. His ultimate question is pointed to God, “But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God” (13:3). Let’s give thanks today for our God who is immanent, and yet rules the universe. Thank him for welcoming us into his presence. Pray that we would learn how to bring our questions, concerns, and petitions to him more and more.
- The calendar has officially turned over to August, the last ‘summer month’ in Wisconsin. Pray for a hunger to rise up in all of us to seek the Lord in these days. Pray each of us would be drinking deeply from the well – that we would look to Jesus and let him be our guiding light. Pray that we would behold our God. David Platt said “The Word of God and Spirit of God are enough in the people of God to enjoy and spread the worship of God.” Pray this would be true in these days!
- Please pray for Tim & Tracy as they seek to make disciples of Jesus through InterVarsity in Alaska!*
