Reading:
Job 6-8, Proverbs 9, Galatians 5
Prayer:
- Paul continues to press into the gospel of grace through faith of Jesus Christ in Galatians 5. In 5:6 Paul states, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.” Paul is laboring to ensure the Galatians are not given over to legalism – earning their righteousness by their works. Lest we be led into license, though, Paul also reminds us that faith works itself out through love. Yes, there is work to be done – pray that this would take root in each of us. We love, serve and live in obedience to Christ not to earn anything, but from what we already have in Christ! Pray for the power to walk in step with the Spirit and that His fruit would be evident in the lives of believers at Woodlands!
- Pray for the great variety of care classes and opportunities that are being prepared for fall and offered through Woodlands Church. As a community, we have all experienced impact from living through the last 18 months. These classes and offerings will be one of the tools to help navigate new waters. Give thanks for those leaders stepping up to give their time, talents, and treasures toward shepherding us through new waters. Give thanks that this care is gospel centered and grace motivated. Pray each person who would benefit from these offerings would have the opportunity to take part.
- Pray for David & Heidi as they seek to make disciples of Jesus with Cru in Orlando.*
