Reading:
Song of Solomon 3-5, Proverbs 13, Colossians 4
Prayer:
- At the end of Colossians, Paul lists off many faithful servants working for the gospel, and in that list we see Epaphras come up again. “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you, always struggling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God” (4:12). Epaphras is laboring for the believers within the new churches forming in the wake of Paul’s ministry through prayer. Today, take some of the commands from Paul given throughout Colossians, ones you have underlined or pondered, and go to work, laboring in prayer for your church. And for other churches you know personally. Pray that we may stand mature, and fully assured in all the will of God!
- As the school year quickly approaches we pray for our school teachers, school administrators, and staff. We ask that God would be blessing each of them, providing rest, and readying their hearts for the year ahead. We pray for parents as they work to find new rhythms for their families. And we lift up our students, we pray that they will be rested and ready for the new school year.
- Please pray for Jerry and Diana as they seek to serve the cause of Christ in their sphere of influence.*
