Monday, August 2nd
Reading:
Esther 7-10, Psalm 91, Galatians 2
Prayer:
- Paul is working to establish the power of the gospel throughout the letter of Galatians. We learned in chapter 1 that the church in Galatia had turned ‘to another gospel’ – one of works, it seems. So when we read these powerful words at the end of chapter 2:20-21, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.” Let these words linger in your mind for a bit longer today – don’t rush past them. Read them again. Pray them. Let the gospel of grace do its work on your heart this Monday!
- A group of senior high students is being sent this week to City on a Hill. They are going to serve others and share the Word. Today, as they pack up and begin to travel, pray for focused and engaged hearts and minds, pray for great chemistry and teamwork, pray for Jesus to be first and foremost on this journey. Pray for health, safety, and ease within the logistics.
- Please pray for Kristina as she seeks to make disciples of Jesus.*
