Reading:

Job 33-35, Psalm 98, NT Catch Up

Prayer:

  • Read this commentary on Psalm 98 today from the Gospel Transformation Study Bible:  “God will utterly save his people.  … God reiterates that he is conducting a great international campaign of redemption.  He will make his salvation known even to the Gentiles, while remembering his loving kindness to the Jews. … Their mission strategy will be unconventional.  God will conquer the nations through the worship of his people (Ps. 98:4-6). As others see the enthusiasm, energy, and sense of expectation, they will be attracted to God’s reality (1 Cor. 14:24-25). But if they are going to be convinced of God’s greatness, the redeemed must worship with glad enthusiasm.”  Pray for glad enthusiasm, energy, and sense of expectation to ooze out of you today as you move through the rest of your day and week!
  • The youth group is heading to Noah’s Ark on Friday! Thank God for the opportunity He gave us to enjoy summer weather and each other on this trip.  Pray that deep and supportive friendships would be formed between our students.
  • Continue to pray for the events occurring in Afghanistan.  Please see yesterday’s prompts for 5 great bullet points to pray through.*
