Prayer:
These prayer requests are from a source who works closely with Muslim believers. Please take your prayer time today and devote it to pray for Afghanistan as detailed below:
Please Pray for Afghanistan:
Sunday, August 15th, the Taliban entered Kabul. Revenge killings and other brutal tactics are reported as they take over areas. During the past twenty years, many organizations brought humanitarian aid, education and most of all Jesus. Unlike twenty years ago, today there are many believers and leadership for them. These believers now face major challenges.
Please pray:
- Pray for the Gospel to advance among the Taliban and all in Afghanistan. May God send dreams and visions of Jesus to them (1 Thes. 1:6-10)
- May God protect the new Afghan Jesus followers. May they be strong in their faith in potential coming persecution and even death (1 Cor. 16:13).
- May God protect the foreign workers and give wisdom how best continue to love and serve their Afghan brothers and sisters (Phil. 1:19-24).
- May God stop killings among: a) the believers, b) the more educated (especially the women), c) those who have assisted Western forces, d) the minority tribes.
- Pray Psalm 3 for all the believers: “Many are rising up against me. . . You, Lord are a shield around me . . . the Lord sustains me. I will not be afraid . . . Arise, Lord; save me, my God . . . Salvation belongs to the Lord; may Your blessing be upon Your people!”
