Break down begins. This week has flown by. It was another successful mission! We thank God!
We have our awesome dentist and his lovely assistant situated on the third floor of the church.
Triage is a key cog in this machine. Getting people to the right place at the right time is what keeps the clinic running smoothly. We are so thankful for Jose' and Lindy and their heart for the Guatemalan people. Because of their language expertise, we've really been able connect with the people of Los Olivos church, the patients, our bus drivers, the guards, everyone.
The women of Guatemala are really appreciating the OB/GYN services being offered by Dr. Andrew and Dr. Steve. The compassion these men have for their patients is so evident. What great examples for the students to follow.
(Dr. Steve even got a kiss...he said he's coming back 😘)
Our nurses are amazing! So helpful and encouraging to both the patients and to our team.
It's fun to witness the debriefing at the end of each day as we wait for clinic to wrap up. The energy even at the end of the day. Both the students and the docs are eager to share their experiences.
The experiences the students are having on this trip are invaluable. Kudos to all the docs for being so willing to share their expertise.
A successful pull
The dental clinic has been busy! It is not uncommon to see young children sipping on soda or constantly having a sucker in their mouth. As a result the team has seen a lot of decay. Dr. Glen, Dr. Chris and Tammy along with Blanca as the interpreter make an amazing team. The incredible patience and encouragement they exude is notable.
Here are our pharmacy rock stars. Kudos to Sue and Jennifer who saw almost every patient that came into the clinic, and they did it with efficiency and grace.
Chapel on Orphanage
Thank you for all of the prayers. They have been felt!
We do work hard down here so we make sure to have some time to play. Pastor Doug and Doctor Kurt getting ready to jam.
