Scripture:
Hebrews 6, Psalm 117, Joshua 21-23

Prayer:

  1. We’re in Hebrews 6 today, one of the chapters that is well known for its strong warning passage about falling away from Christ.  Because of that passage, give thanks for the end of this chapter that has a strong preservation passage.  Today, earnestly pray for yourself and fellow believers that we ‘might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.” There is such beauty in the closing of this section:  We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
  2. Tonight is the first night of regular youth group.  Pray for solid group connections between students and leaders!
  3. Pray for returning and new volunteers for our Connections teams (think:  parking lot attendants, greeters, hosts, ushers, baristas, etc). As we think through opening the building for in-person services this weekend and in the not-so-distant future opening the new worship center for services, we want to be a place where people can come and feel welcomed and can connect easily into this body of believers.  Thank God for those who are serving and pray for many more to serve in this capacity.
