Reading:

Genesis 40-42, Proverbs 6, Matthew 22-23

Prayer:

  • In this selection of Matthew, Jesus responds to the question, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” with “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. … And a second is like it.  You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  The order of Jesus’ response is important – loving God is made possible by Him first loving us and this love results in love for one another.  Pray today that for a deepening understanding of and love for God would result in you loving your neighbor as yourself.
  • Pray for fruitful times together for the groups and pairs that are doing the Joyful Journey together!  Pray that the time invested in reading the Word, listening to the sermon, and meeting together would produce Kingdom fruit in their hearts and lives.  Pray for good connections for those who have let us know they’d like to be connected.
  • Pray for Jay and Melissa as they seek to make Christ known. *
