Reading:

Leviticus 19-21, Psalm 23, Luke 8

Prayer:

  • There is some beautiful intertwining of our readings happening this week.  As you read through the list of laws in Leviticus, do you ever wonder, “How did David come to understand God as his shepherd?”  The tender and intimate way David describes His God in Psalm 23 can sometimes seem at odds with the God we read of in Leviticus.  Not so!  In Luke 8 today, we get to see Jesus, God Incarnate, the exact expression of his nature (check out Hebrews 1!) tenderly heal and draw near to a woman who, according to the Law of Leviticus, should not have drawn near to anyone (Luke 8:40-48).  She is healed and called “Daughter”.  How incredible! Praise God today for his exquisite holiness wonderfully mixed with his tender care and compassion for us, his fallen creation.
  • Pray for this Wednesday night’s meeting.  Pray that God’s Spirit would be in the building opening hearts and minds to the truth in God’s Word.  Pray for our leaders to be led by the Spirit in conversations with students.
  • Pray for Gordon and Sara as they seek to make Christ known through their work. *
