Reading:

Joshua 12-14, Proverbs 18, Acts 3

Prayer:

  • We read several weeks ago in Luke’s gospel and heard again on Easter of “the greatest Bible study ever” with Jesus on the road to Emmaus and after at the table with the disciples (Luke 24:13-45).  Hasn’t it been fun to read the apostles expound on what Jesus has done for them to understand the Scriptures as they proclaim him over and over again in Acts? Thousands are brought into saving faith through their proclamations.  Also in Luke, Jesus’ words following the study of Scripture were these, “and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.  And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you…”(Luke 24:46-49)  We get to walk in that promised power today – praise God! Pray that your mind would be opened to understand the Scriptures and you would be witnesses to the truth found there.
  • Pray for Spiritual Growth Partners to continue or new ones to form for our new sermons series starting this weekend – A Missional Journey.  Pray that what we do as Christ followers would be pressed into our hearts and minds and find its way out through our hands and feet.  Pray this body of believers would impact their community (near and far) with the truth and grace found in Jesus.
  • Pray for Kristina as she seeks to make Christ known and loved.*
