I know it will be Sunday at the earliest before I can post this but I wanted to give you a rundown on how Saturday went for us. We had a very long day after leaving Plover at 1 AM. We arrived safe and sound in Guatemala around 1PM Saturday January 4th. We know you guys were praying for us because we breezed through Customs in record time. Getting our medicines cleared was a concern for all of us and it turned out to be a non-event. The power of prayer is a wonderful thing. Oscar Chiquito and Reuben from the Los Olivos church were there to greet us. We loaded our bags on everyone's favorite bus named Sofia and were soon on our way. We had a fantastic lunch at La Estancia restaurant in Guatemala City and then continued our journey to the Misioneros del Camino orphanage. We arrived around 6:30 PM and everyone claimed a bunk and got settled in. Misioneros del Camino is an amazing place. It is a ten acre fenced in compound where the kids are cared for, protected and nurtured. You can tell the great pride the staff take in the facility by how well it is maintained. We will have some team time after a 8 PM dinner and then get ready for Sunday.
Sunday morning will start with breakfast and devotion. We will then visit the market in Sumpango and, after lunch, begin setting up the clinic. Sunday evening we will worship and take communion with our brothers and sisters at Los Olivos church. Again, we will keep this updated as often as possible. Thanks again for all your prayer and support. It is greatly appreciated.
