Today began with the wonderful opportunity to worship with our French brothers and sisters. It was a sacred time. 43 nations are represented each time this church gathers to worship, so it gives us s glimpse of what heaven will be like- people of every language and nationality praising Jesus for His abundant mercy and grace. Beautiful.
After service we joined in a pot luck meal with our team spread amongst the church, getting to know one another on an even more personal level. Laughter, and good conversation filling the room as strangers began to become friends- all because of our common faith in Christ. Beautiful.
This afternoon we enjoyed a time of seeing a 17th century châteaux, ornate and impressive. And at dinner we joined a team here from Great Britian who we will work alongside this week. More laughter, more connection. The Body of Christ - beautiful.
And we heard the story of how God is already answering prayer. I blogged yesterday about our prayer walk. One of the merchants we specifically prayed for- who described himself as an atheist- stopped one of the pastors of the church late yesterday afternoon asking to know more about the God we follow. The pastor was able to clearly explain to him the Gospel - the great and gracious news of what God, in Christ, has done for us. Awesome. Humbling.
Thank you at home for your prayers and support. God is alive and at work in Ponto and we count it a huge privilege to serve Him here... And we have yet to pick up a hammer, drill, lay tile, paint a wall.
Dieu, tu est grand!
God, You are great!
