Backpacks for Hope is a fantastic ministry at Woodlands Church that provides weekly meals for families in our community through a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Portage County. It's a blessing to have such a strategic partnership, and it's a blessing to be able to so tangibly impact lives!
During December, we'll be giving all of our Sunday School offering gifts to Backpacks for Hope -we've set an initial goal of $500. Each week, kids will be encouraged to bring in tithe money to put in their classroom backpack - we'll collect, count and update classrooms each week with how much money they've brought in.
At the end of the month, we'll celebrate the great work the kids have done, and the classroom that brought in the most money will also win a donut party in early January! Won't that be fun?
Ultimately, we love to encourage boys and girls that they're money can be used to bless and transform other people's lives as well. Tithing is an essential component of the Christian life, because it continually reaffirms our dependence on God, rather than money or anything else.
Please encourage your son or daughter to bring in money (or provide some for them) and give it to Backpacks for Hope!
