Nursery at Woodlands
Nursery at Woodlands
We provide nursery ministries during all of our Sunday morning worship services. Our nursery teams are a mix of parents, students, and screened workers. We love to provide a caring place for these precious gifts to your family while you participate in our worship experiences.
Our nurseries are for children from birth to age two. We group children by age and development. Our usual groupings for the nurseries are: infants, ones and twos. We occasionally adjust these groupings based on numbers of kids involved in the ministry.
We also provide a Nursing/ Parent Room for families who wish to keep children with them during services. This room is available to give newborns and nursery-age children a little more wiggle room (and noise level) while providing the opportunity for parents to follow the service on video.
If you have more specific questions about our wellness policy or check-in and paging procedures you can click on the links below.
Please be considerate of others when determining whether your child should be in the nursery or not. For the sake of the health of children and volunteers and staff, please do not leave your child if they have experienced any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours:
Our nursery staff is a caring and dedicated mixture of paid workers, ministry partners, and parent volunteers.
The first time you come to put your child in the nursery you will need to stop at our children’s ministry check in desk and fill out a brief information sheet on your child. If there are allergies or medical concerns for your child, please make us aware of that information as well. All of this information is then put into our computer system and helps us provide the best that we can for your child while they are in our care.
When you check your child on one of our of our ipads located throughout the Children's ministry wing in you will be given a name tag to place on your child, and a paper slip that you will need to keep with you and return when checking your child out. This prevents anyone but the person with the slip from checking out your child. We will use texting to contact you quickly if your child is having any challenges adjusting or if we have any care questions. Please be sure to keep your phone on vibrate during the service. We have friendly and helpful staff that will be happy to answer any questions you have and will work with you and your child to make the drop off transition as easy as possible.
The windows into our nurseries allow you to view your youngster without them noticing. If your child is having a difficult time at any point while they are with us we will contact you.
At the conclusion of the service you will simply need to bring the check out slip you recieved during check in and give it to one of the teachers.
We're so excited for all God's going to teach our kids this summer through The Gospel Project, a great new adventure through the Scriptures for kids in preschool through 6th grade!
Each Sunday during the summer, all kids in 1st through 6th grade will gather together in Celebration Square for an opening which includes high energy worship and a fun welcome. We love the ability to give our regular teachers the summer off to relax, refresh and re-energize. As a result, all the elementary kids (1st-6th grade) will be together for Kid's Worship in Celebration Square throughout the summer. We'll sing, play, learn and discuss together as we continue through The Gospel Project
Preschool classes are down the hall and meet during both the 9:15 and 10:45 services as well. All 3's, 4K and Kindergarten kids will be traveling through the Gospel Project together.
Never been to Woodlands before? Not a problem! No pre-registration necessary! Just go to the Woodlands Kids Welcome desk and our staff and volunteers will help you sign up your child and introduce you to their teachers and classrooms!

Kid's Crossing is a dynamic mid-week kid's program that engages kids, focuses them on the truth of God's Word, encourages memorization and community, and puts parents in the drivers-seat in their children's discipleship and walk with God. We're gearing up for another great year of Kid's Crossing in 2017- 2018, and hope that your children will join us on this journey!
If your son or daughter has attended Kid's Crossing in the past, we only need their first name on the form in order to register them. Please note there is a $30/family registration cost that covers the Bridge and all additional materials. You can choose to pay online or pay later offline.
Our Parent's Guide - the Bridge - serves as a full year schedule - with theme nights, special nights, weekly summaries and at-home ideas for each week of Kid's Crossing! Pick one up when you register. Download the full year schedule here.
Two major changes will help Kid's Crossing continue to serve your family better.
The quick highlights: All kids, in all grades, are learning the same focused topic during the night. They all memorize the same verse (age contextualized - the younger kids learn a shorter version, of course), they all hear teaching on the same topic, and they all get in your car at the end of the night thinking along the same lines. And then we, the church, put a powerful new tool in your - the parents - hands, to help you take the steering wheel and disciple your kids. We've said all along - we want our work to be a springboard for family disciplemaking - not a substitute for it.
Each year we make available a convenient desk calendar for families that will help everyone stay on the same page (um, no pun intended?)! Each day, tear off a new sheet to see an idea, discussion starter, marriage moment, verse or more that ties in directly to what we're talking about at Kid's Crossing that week. Every Tuesday, we list the theme verse and the theme night. Put it on the piano, the fridge - leave it in your living room, on your desk at work or... anywhere. It'll help you remember the date, and gently guide you in teaching these essential truths to your kids.
It's quick, easy, fiercely practical, and ties everything together beautifully.
Ha! That's the thing, isn't it? In short - they should! So much is similar to what we've done in the past! Each night will include great games, some engaging teaching, practical small groups, Bible memorization, singing and lots of great people. But, everything is simplified, and everyone is working together - on the same page. Kids will learn verses together, have opportunities to wrestle with real life questions together, and grow closer to one another throughout the year. Plus, we realigned the ages to make more sense: Minis, our 3's through Kindergarten, will have a blast; Mids - our 1st grade - 3rd grade - will love the pace; and Majors - our 4th -6th grade, will be genuinely challenged and loved.
So yes, let us rephrase our answer. Your kids will love it.
Rewards are nothing to scoff at! They're great motivators, and we want to use them to encourage participation. There are two main rewards we give out:
Pins: When a child completes all four sections of a module, they receive a pin that relates to that module, that then gets attached to their nametag lanyard. We make a big celebration of this! If a child makes their way through all three years as a Mini, Mid or Major, he or she would receive all 18 pins and fill the lanyard!
KidMin Kash: Every night a child completes their section (recites the verse and answers application questions), he or she receives a KidMin Kash Coin. These coins are redeemable once a month at KidMin Kash Out, for great and fun prizes! Save up for the big prizes!

2017-18 Key Verse:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
MOPS, also known as Mother's Of Preschoolers, meets every first and third Thursday of the month from 9:15-11:15am at Woodlands Church. It is a great way to meet other moms and make connections!
