It's never easy to tell someone that there is nothing you can do for them. And if that person waited in line in the hot sun all day just to have the opportunity to see a physician for some medical relief, it is even harder to tell them there is nothing that can be done today. That's just the situation Jack encountered today. A man in need of insulin, with no means of obtaining it due to his financial situation, could not be helped.
There are so many people in need of medical attention, yet it is often something we take for granted in the United States. When I asked Jack why he has been serving on medical mission teams for the past 10 years, he said, "I want to help make a difference for people that don't have the opportunity."
